January Meet & Greet at Brothers Deli-Restaurant

Image
We were so pleased to see some early-birds at our most recent quarterly Writers and Illustrators Meet & Greet on Thursday, January 18th from 8am to 10am at Brothers Deli-Restaurant in Wakefield, MA. What a great way to start off the year and the day!  We love these casual gatherings that always have such a great mix of writers, artists, playwrights and musicians.  The Room to Write's entire Board of Directors was in attendance and Joy and Kathy, members of the Arts Collaborative of Wakefield , attended to share information and gather ideas about upcoming exhibits they are planning to hold at the local Albion Cultural Exchange building in Wakefield. We look forward to sharing information on their "Tell Me a Story" exhibit planned for April when details are available. The group got to know each other over a hot cup of coffee or tea and a delicious mix of freshly baked muffins, a mix of bagels and fresh fruit. A bit thank you to the owners and staff at Brothers Deli-R...

The Room to Write is so grateful for the ongoing support we receive from our community.  The Savings Bank has been a reliable supporter for our youth programming in the past and was right there to support our more recent efforts to create writing programming for Seniors and Veterans in the north of Boston region. Bob DiBella, left, President of The Savings Bank, and Raichelle Kallery, Executive Vice President – Senior Retail Banking Officer, far right, recently presented a $500 donation to (from left to right) Linda Malcolm, Coordinator of Senior and Veterans Programming; Emily Seward, Vice President; and Colleen Getty, President.

The Room to Write is a nonprofit and like all nonprofits we have a Board of Directors who work behind the scenes to ensure our mission is fulfilled, keep things in check, infuse energy, generate ideas and support all The Room to Write does in the community.  Recently we said goodbye to founding board member of TRtW and secretary Jeanette Murray of North Reading. We are so thankful to Jeanette for her dedicated service to our organization and to the writers of all ages, abilities and means in the region since 2018.  The Room to Write would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Jeanette for serving as Secretary for the past three years as we thank Brian McCoubrey of Wakefield, who joined TRtW's BOD in 2019, for taking over the position of board secretary. Keeping with our attitude of gratitude, we thank Roseline Giglio ( in post below :) of Saugus who joined our Board of Directors in 2020 and has taken on the position of Treasurer, which had been tended to by founding ...

We are so grateful to have Roseline Giglio as part of The Room to Write's Board of Directors. She will be picking up where current board member Roberta Hung left off as Treasurer. Rose comes to us from Saugus, MA and is a talented lady who wears many hats: Accountant, Realtor and mother of three young boys!  The Room to Write is fortunate to have such a great team behind the wheel supporting our mission to connect and support writers of all ages, abilities and means. Welcome Rose!
