Such a Great Group at TRtW's Meet & Greet!

After over two years of not meeting up in person to enjoy the feeling of being in a room filled with people who like to write and create--it felt SO good to be among last night's Meet & Greet group! A little coffee, tea and some sweets and a whole lot of talent, varied experiences and positive energy!

The Room to Write's quarterly Writers and Illustrators Meet & Greets are always an inspiration and remind each of us that there really are other people in our communities that love to write in so many different forms and for so many unique reasons.

I think last night set our record for the number of playwrights in the room. I learned about a 10-minute play and it sounds like the theatrical equivalent of poetry. What a wonderful concept!

You had to be there to feel the creative energy and enthusiasm that was filling up the space. It really was refreshing and had a spring vibe to it--a renewal. So, thank you to all who took the extra effort to break out of your comfort zones, venture out into the world and into a humble room in Wakefield. Thanks to Linda Malcolm, Sally Chetwynd and Kathy Cain who were present to answer any questions people had about their own writing as well as the workshops we are developing for seniors and veterans

Special thanks to those who attended with books to share! Dave Mangan, Wakefield Veterans Service Officer who distributed Vietnam War A 50th Commemoration: A Time to Honor; and Karin Gertsch, Author of Flora Has an Adventure; Christine Ricci-McNamee, Author of Logan and the Lost Luggage; as well as Ralph Tufo, Author of Seemore the Seagull who each donated a copy of their children's book to the Boys & Girls Club's library. And extra special thanks to Joey D'Alessandro at the Boys & Girls Club of Wakefield and Stoneham for making their Wakefield Club space available to us so that we could hold this event.

We look forward to the next meet and greet gathering in July!
