Betwixt and Between

As the world continues to (hopefully) transition from pandemic to post-pandemic, many of us are shifting and changing in so many ways, too. The Room to Write is excited to be putting the building blocks in place this fall and winter so that in the spring of 2022 we can finally start to get back to digging our heels in and fulfilling our mission to bring all of you writers of every age, ability and means together and to support your writing efforts.

It's amazing how much goes on behind the scenes of any business or nonprofit organization, but a sign of our modern times is the need to keep up with the ever-evolving technology that enables us to communicate effectively. Being a small non-profit, these tasks are done in-house on a volunteer basis and so things may move forward slowly. But--slow and steady wins the race.

This month we hope to finally make the leap from "old" website (this current one I am posting on) to "new" website. This is a transition we must make due to software updates and all that boring and invisible stuff. So, this blog has suffered as a result because every post on this old site is something more to convert to the new site, which has acted as a deterrent that I am sure many of you have had to struggle with in your writing worlds or work worlds at one time or another. Please bear with us as we flick the switch in the coming weeks and scramble to work out any kinks that are inevitable in any techno-mumbo-jumbo-type conversion.

Hopefully we'll get our footing quickly as we acclimate to a new layout which appears to give us a bit less poetic license aesthetically and will require learning new processes. Please send us a note to us to let us know if there is a link not working, if something looks wonky, or if something does not appear as expected. We would find this information from a user point of view extremely helpful--so send your observations along to info@theroomtowrite.org. We appreciate your help in polishing up our site once is it converted.

We look forward to seeing you all in the new year! Thanks for your patience.
